Easter Crafts for Kids to Keep Them Busy Before Dinner

Easter Crafts for Kids

Looking for a fun way to celebrate spring with your kids? Try making some Easter crafts for kids that are easy, colorful, and full of creativity! Whether you’re decorating the house or just want a fun afternoon activity, these simple ideas are perfect for kids of all ages. In this blog, we’ll show you how to make paper flower crowns, egg tape art, and handprint flowers—three cute crafts that are sure to bring smiles to your home.

Easter Egg Letter Hunt

This Easter egg letter hunt is a super fun and simple activity that kids will love! It’s perfect for learning through play—and it gets everyone moving.

  • Foam Sticker Letters
  • Plastic Eggs
  • Paper or Poster Board

Start by filling plastic Easter eggs with foam sticker letters—one letter per egg works great. If you don’t have 26 eggs, no worries! Just pop a few letters into each egg.

Foam sticker letters are awesome because kids can stick them straight onto paper or a poster. But if you don’t have those, you can use magnetic letters, foam letters with tape, or even small pieces of card with letters written on them.

Now hide the eggs around your yard or inside the house. Give each child an Easter basket, then send them on their letter hunt! This is the part they’ll love the most.

Why It’s Great

As they find eggs, kids open them to see what letter they’ve got. Then they match each letter to a printable alphabet sheet. You’ll love watching them learn as they go!

Want to switch things up? Try hiding numbers, shapes, or colors instead of letters. You could even focus just on the letters in your child’s name for a personalized twist.

This Easter egg letter hunt combines movement, fun, and learning all in one. It's the perfect Easter activity for kids—and it’s super easy to set up!

Paper Flower Crowns

Up next, are paper flower crowns! This Easter craft for kids is fun and easy to do for most ages.

Here are the items you'll need:

  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Construction Paper
  • Markers
  • Glue

I needed two pieces of construction paper to fit around my daughter's head. I recommend doing shorter blades of grass as the longer blades may flop over once the flowers are added on. Cut the green construction paper to look like blades of grass.

Then, draw and cut out the flowers. Glue them onto your blades of grass.

Finally, take the grass and shape it into a circle. Tape or staple it, and you're done!

Paper Flower Crowns are a simple Easter craft for kids that are beautiful and fun to do!

Handprint Flowers

The final Easter craft for kids are Handprint Flowers which are perfect for this Holiday and also for Mother's Day!

Here are the supplies you'll need:

  • Construction Paper or Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Popsicle Stick
  • Green pipe Cleaners

First grab a brown or black paper and cut into a square shape for the pot. Next, glue your popsicle stick behind the planter. I was able to purchase green popsicle sticks from my local craft store, but if you can't find any, you can paint a normal one in any shade of green you'd like.

Have your child select a color they'd like their flower to be. Trace their hand and cut it out. Then glue it onto the stem.

Now, onto the leaves. Cut out one to two leaves on green paper. Twirl the pipe cleaner in a spiral shape and glue onto the leaves for texture. If your overall handprint flower is smaller, you may have to cut the pipe cleaner into two before using it. Glue the leaves onto the steam.

Finally, display or give this memorial craft to someone special!

Conclusion

Crafting is a great way to spend quality time together and celebrate the season. These Easter crafts for kids are not only easy to make, but they also let your child explore their creativity while making special holiday memories. So grab some paper, tape, and paint—and get ready for an egg-citing time!
