The GameTruck Executive Team
Scott Novis/CEO and Founder
Scott is no stranger to video games nor innovation. His two engineering degrees, 10 issued patents, and nearly a decade of video game development experience give him unique insight and passion creating innovative business solutions and concepts. After receiving degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Arizona State University Scott spent several years working abroad to gain insight and exposure to the global economy. He then spent half a decade working in Motorola’s research labs where he helped develop graphics and display technologies that ultimately resulted in issuing of his patents. Attracted by the exciting pace of technology and innovation in the video game space, Scott joined Rainbow Studios as it’s VP of Development. The studio was responsible for some of the most successful games of the PS2 era including the birth of the ATV Offroad Fury Franchise. In all Scott received credit on the development of 13 video games with sales in excess of 20 million units and revenues of $500 million dollars.
He founded the GameTruck and invented the mobile video game media room concept in early 2006 after a lot of painstaking research. It was his son’s 4th birthday party that inspired Scott to find a better birthday party solution. The noise, expense and frustration of the pizza arcade sent him searching for something better. What’s more, He knew the video games his studios were making were better than anything he saw in any arcade. His research and efforts eventually lead to the epiphany that what we needed was an arcade for home video games, not home video games in an arcade. He wanted a place where people could play the best video games on the latest consoles with their friends, on the best possible systems. It had to be effortless, affordable, and most of all fun. He didn’t want something “kiddy”. He wanted something he and his game making peers would enjoy. The simultaneous convergence of several technologies – inexpensive portable power, cost effective flat screen TV’s and the arrival of high definition video game consoles inspired him to create the GameTruck in 2006. After building a prototype in his garage and inviting friends and family over to play, Scott and his brother Chris built the first GameTruck threw the first GameTruck birthday party for a friend and neighbor.
Convinced that it was not enough to build a compelling concept, Scott designed the business to be scalable and operable by virtually anyone with a passion for video games and working with children. From day one, he wanted the business to be run by a semi-absentee owner. With that in mind, he accepted a position a Vice President and General Manager for the Walt Disney Company for a new kind of video game studio. He was given a blank slate and assembled a world class team of video game developers to create Walt Disney’s Nintendo Center of Excellence. After bringing Fall Line Studio to a stable state, Scott left Walt Disney Company to pursue GameTruck. The tremendous response to the concept demanded his full attention to grow the fledgling entity into a successful enterprise.
Scott lives in Tempe Arizona with his wife and 3 children. He is an active member of his community. He is secretary of Tempe South Little League, and web master for Cub Scout Pack 275. He also coaches youth baseball. His favorite video games are Halo 3 and Mario Super Sluggers on the Wii.

The GameTruck Mission
“We are redefining the way people play.”
GameTruck Core Values
Respect the Games: The GameTruck generation is one that will get to re-experience the thrill of collaboration and playing together. Today’s video games offer great opportunities for learning and socialization. We are here to help parents learn to use games as a tool for socialization rather than as a catalyst for isolation.
Respect the Video Game Lifestyle: GameTruck players get moving! Physical activity and gaming cannot be mutually exclusive. This generation of kids is learning to play in a new way and we are on a mission to show how to embrace the games in a manner that leads to a healthy life style.
Respect Mom: Parents are the decision makers when it comes to gaming and we are here to help you learn how to manage your child’s gaming activities even if you are not a gamer. We will help you not only sort through the labyrinth of games, but also give you core tactics and strategies for creating a positive and healthy gaming environment in her home.
Respect Education: Behind every game is a great mind. Game developers are mathematicians, scientists, computer programmers, and artists. Leveraging the unique connection kids have with gaming to spur their interests in math and science is a core objective of GameTruck. We work with schools to create programs that help kids to explore the possibilities of the world around them.
